Name: John Naylor
Position: Member/ Key Individual/Commercial & Personal Lines Representative
 
Personal Information
John Naylor has been in the insurance industry since 1992. He has a diploma in insurance and is an associate of the Insurance Institute of South Africa – AIISA. John has passed his First Level Regulatory RE 5 and Key Individual exams. John’s field of expertise is not confined to any short term insurance sub category and is licensed to market both Personal Lines (Domestic) and Commercial insurance.
John is passionate about service and cares particularly in providing the ‘Personal Touch’. He is popular with his clients with whom he develops sound relationships built on a high level of trust in his integrity and ability.
 
Interests
John married his wife and business partner Trish in 1992 and together they have 2 daughters, Claire and Caitlin and two grandsons. In his spare time John enjoys walking, reading, pottering around the house and in his garage and spending time his family and friends.

 

Name: Trish Naylor
Position: Member/Key Individual & Personal Lines Representative
 
Personal Information
Trish Naylor joined the insurance industry in 2003. She loves working alongside her husband and together they are a complimentary duo.  
 
Trish’s field of expertise is Personal Lines Insurance however she also manages the operational aspects of the growing business. Like her husband, Trish has passed her First Level Regulatory RE 5 and Key Individual exams. Her  passion for ‘Doing It Right – First Time’ coupled with her strong administrative ability assists her in developing and implementing internal procedures that ensure that the FSP complies with the Industry’s regulatory and legislative requirements.
 
Interests
Trish is one of 8 children and so FAMILY is an important facet of her life. Any spare time is dedicated to spending quality time with her family, friends and grandsons. She enjoys keeping up with technology, reading a good book and during the summer months – relaxing around the pool.

  

Name: Thandiwe Mdubo
Position: Receptionist/Personal Lines Renewals Administrator
 
Personal information
Thandiwe joined Risk Sure Insurance Brokers in September 2009 as our Receptionist after graduating from Esayidi College with her National N5 Certificate. During her time on our reception Thandiwe worked diligently to obtain her NQF Level 4 Short Term Insurance Qualification which she completed in November 2014. Thandiwe is responsible for the administration of the Personal Lines Policy Renewals in a non-advice rendering capacity.  Her calm approach, friendly disposition and enthusiasm to assist our clients and her colleagues alike has made her a valuable member of our team.

 
Interests
Thandiwe married her husband in December 2016 and in 2017 became a mother to a beautiful little girl.  She enjoys shopping and spending time with her husband, daughter, family and friends.

  


Name: Gaylene Venter
Position: Claims Administrator
 
Personal Information
Gaylene has been a Claims Administrator in the insurance industry since 1991. She is a loyal employee who gives of her best at all times. Her ability to remain calm while working under pressure, together with her tenacity and commitment to her duties has made her stand out as a valuable member of the Risk Sure Team.
 
Whilst not a requirement for her position as Claims Adminstrator, Gaylene has successfully passed her First Level Regulatory RE 5 exam.
 
Interests
Gaylene married her best friend Leon in April 2010.   She enjoys riding motorcycles with her husband, weekend get-a-ways in the Berg and spending time outdoors.

 

 

Name: Charles Kohler
Position: Commercial Lines Administrator
 
Personal Information
Charles Kohler started his insurance career in 1987 with a national corporate insurance broker.  His next move was to a major insurer where he rose to the level of branch manager of the Pietermaritzburg branch.  From there, Charles opened his own short-term brokerage on the South Coast and over seven years built up a solid client base which was the nucleus of Risk Sure as we know it today.  Charles has completed the First Level Regulatory RE 5 and Key Individual exams and met the other requirements of the FSB with regards to competency.  Once a partner at Risk Sure, he left the industry but returned after some six years on a half day basis to assist John with commercial administration. Charles’ strengths are his technical knowledge and strong administrative skills.

Interests
Having grown up on the coast, Charles has a love for the ocean and is an avid angler.  He keeps fit by going regularly to the gym which he has done for the past 19 years. He is blessed with two grown and married sons and two grandsons.
 

 

Name: Angela Donval
Position: Commercial Lines Representative
 
Personal Information
Angela joined Risk Sure Insurance Brokers after retiring from the corporate world in 2016. Angela comes with many years’ experience on both sides of the insurance spectrum, starting her career with Guardian National Insurance Company with whom she worked for 19 years and then moving into the broker world. She managed the Pietermaritzburg Branch of Indwe Risk Services for 16 years before retiring to the Coast.  She is fully qualified to give advice on both Domestic and Commercial business and has written and passed her First Level Regulatory RE5 and Key Individual exams.


Interests

Family, grandchildren, her animals and gardening are Angela’s passions. You will find her riding her precious horse Rosi most weekends and she will probably try and get you to join her, given half a chance!   

Name: Caitlin Naylor
Position: Personal Lines Intern
 
Personal Information
Caitlin who matriculated in 2017 joined the family run business in January 2020.  She is eager and willing to learn and her bubbly character and love of people, coupled with her attention to detail will stand her in good stead as she gains experience in the Industry.  Caitlin is enthusiastic about doing her qualification and writing the relevant regulatory examinations.


Interests
Caitlin loves spending time with her family and friends and enjoys catching up on series on week-ends when she is not waitressing or doing gel nails for fun.
